Redirects

Redirects for your website work much like they do on the road: if there is a problem area or place where you would like users to avoid, you can set a "detour" to a different part of your site. You could have a "Under Construction" or "Coming Soon!" page for pages that are not fully developed. Potentially if you have an "/about-us" page, and you find that users are always entering "/about" into the address bar, you can redirect them to the correct URL and save them the unpleasantness of confronting an error page.

The Redirect page has a listing of all current redirect entries, it is on this page that you would edit/remove any that are currently in place. If this is your first, click on the Add a New Redirect link. Here, you simply enter the URL that you wish to redirect visitors From and enter the location you wish them to go To in the appropriate text-box. The radio button denotes if this is an existing URL, or a new/custom one.
