Adding Links Walk-through:
To add a link, simply select the text or image you wish to make a link, and select the Link icon (
) in the toolbar.

The General Tab

Link URL:
This text box is where you would add the address for whatever the link is attached to. For example, entering "control" will bring you to "http://www.yourDomain.com/control". For an external site, you would have to enter the full URL beginning with "http://www.".
Anchors:
This drop down bar shows a list of available anchors that can be linked to (described shortly).
Target:
Controls how the link will be opened, each selection has a brief explanation of what it does (open in same window versus a new one, etc.).
Title:
Gives the link a title.
Class:
Simply assigns a class to the link.
Linking to Files:
To link to a file that is on the server, click the file browser icon (
) next to the Link URL field. Then, simply locate and select the desired file. For more information on uploading files, click here.
Email Links:
Linking to an email is much easier than you might think. Within the Link URL text box preface the email address with "mailto:", so a sample full entry would look something like "mailto:siteadmin@yourdomain.com". Upon being clicked by a site visitor, the user's default email service (i.e. Outlook Express), will load with the prescribed email "To:" line.
Linking to Page Anchors:
An anchor can be thought of as a bookmark to a section on a web page. Rather than scrolling down to a specific location on a very long page, an anchor can be inserted at points of interest for quick referencing. In order to utilize anchors, you must first place one, by selecting the Insert/Edit Anchor icon (
), then point to it using a link from the Anchors field detailed above in the link insertion section. Back to Top is a common use for this is.
The Popup Tab
To utilize the Popup Tab, you must first check the Javascript Popup box. having done this, you will then reference the file through the browse window. Additional fields include the window name, size, position, as well as some modification options below.
The Events Tab
The Events tab provides a list of the supported Javascript functions. Here you can easily add the action to the appropriate text box to assign that function to the link.
The Advanced Tab
This tab contains many standard fields to assign a ID, class, and Tab-index (the order in which a link will be selected by hitting the TAB button on the keyboard). Also, Relationships can be added as page to target, and target to page. Within these select bars, a number of prescribed relationships are provided. These are used if you wanted to give additional information as to what/how you are linking items on your site.
